Located on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno, the Museum of Natural History holds irreplaceable specimens of plants and animals that are used for research, teaching, and outreach. As the only museum of its kind in the state, the Museum of Natural History is a unique and important resource for understanding Nevada's natural heritage.
For the 10:00am group, students will browse the the museum, then engaged in the Museum's watershed lesson titled: Where does My Water Come From? This lesson is desinged for a 2nd & 3rd grade auidence but, all ages are welcomed to participate. In this lesson students willl build a paper model of a watershed and make predictions about where the water goes before exploring a large-scale modle of our Lake Tahoe and Truckee River Watershed and discussing how water moves through out watershed.
***Please choose only 1 of the two field trips to attend, so to ensure as many co-op students can participate as possible***
Please arrive at 9:45am to check in and be divided into groups. The field trip program will begin promptly at 10:00am. Please allow time to park and walk a short distance through campus. If the weather is good, our group will meet outside the doors of the Max Fleischmann Agriculture building at 9:45am, then head up to the third floor. If the weather is not good, we'll plan to meet on the third floor in the museum. Keep in mind classes will be going on as you go into the building.
