Located on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno, the Museum of Natural History holds irreplaceable specimens of plants and animals that are used for research, teaching, and outreach. As the only museum of its kind in the state, the Museum of Natural History is a unique and important resource for understanding Nevada's natural heritage.
For the 11:40am group, students will browse the the museum, then engaged in the Museum's snake identification lab titled: Can You Identify Our Mystery Snakes? Students will meet live non-venomous snakes from Nevada, then make observations and take measurements to identify the different species using a dichotomous key.
***Please choose only 1 of the two field trips to attend, so to ensure as many co-op students can participate as possible***
Please arrive at 11:25am to check in and be divided into groups. The field trip program will begin promptly at 11:40am. Please allow time to park and walk a short distance through campus. If the weather is good, our group will meet outside the doors of the Max Fleischmann Agriculture building at 11:25am, then head up to the third floor. If the weather is not good, we'll plan to meet on the third floor in the museum. Keep in mind classes will be going on as you go into the building.
We'll see you at the Museum!
