Basics of Teaching for Eagle Christian Homeschool Co-op:

  • Teaching requirements: Must not have more than 1 week of planned vacation per semester. We understand sickness happens and you can’t plan for those.

o Teachers must arrange for a substitute in case of planned absence from co-op.

o Co-op Attendance policy applies to teachers meaning you can miss up to 3 weeks of classes before the board reviews you membership.

  • Start/End times: Arrive 5-10 min before your class begins so you are ready to go when class time begins. Students may not be excused from class before the 55 min mark.
  • Clean-up: You are responsible for putting your supplies away after class. Please take a moment to load your personal items into your car also to help keep the main areas clear.
  • Supply Closet and Budgets: We ask that you try to use co-op supplies before purchasing to help stay within your budget. If you buy duplicates of something we own a lot of, we reserve the right to not reimburse you for those items.
  • Volunteers/Helpers: Each class gets 1 additional adult. Classes with 10 or less students will only get 1 helper Classes with 10-14 students May get an additional helper. 14 students or more; we will review your assistant needs.
  • Co-teaching: We love co-teachers however this can leave us shorthanded on volunteers elsewhere. If you are a co-teacher, we may ask you to volunteer one hour each week in another classroom.
  • Communication with class: We ask that all our teachers use the classroom forum board to communicate with your students. You may not text or privately email the parents. This is to allow the board to view any communication with the class incase any issue arises.
  • Posting files for the class: During orientation we will show you how to utilize your classroom dashboard so you can post materials for your students to print at home or access from online. You may also post homework assignments there as needed.

Registration as a Teacher:

  •  Registration Guidelines: As a teacher for Eagle Christian, you are granted early access to registration for classes. This however does come with some rules/guidelines; you may not place your children on waitlists. You are receiving 'first dibs' on all classes: waitlist will not be open for your use. Please select your classes from what is open.

o Swapping class selections. You may make changes up until new member registration opens. At that point we ask that you refrain from any further changes. This is roughly a week for you to make any changes. If you have paid your invoice you will need to text either Robin or Edie first so your account invoices can be corrected.

We will Also park all teaching accounts once your registration group closes. This ensure our website doesn't bill us for overages and also allows the board to process invoices and registration.  We WILL reactivate your account when registraion is closed co-op wide.
